Territories of recycling. Life cycles, objects, networks

Lecture by Irene Guida

This lecture is a journey through territories of recycling.

Students of the 2011 Collaborative Design Studio, held by Alberto Ferlenga (Architectural Design), Chiara Ferro (Consarvation), Chiara Tessarolo (Technology), and Paola Viganò (Urban Design), explored a transect in Veneto Region, trying to identify objects to recycle, and proposing for each object a prototypical solution. Territory and landscape were considered as objects of recycling, too.

As Paola Viganò teaching team, we invited the students to reflect upon three main different kind of Recycling, 100% Recycling, Death and Life, Waste Recycling.

What emerged is an interesting relationship between different networks and different kind of life cycle and recycling, a relationship between porosity and easiness in recycling, and new landscapes of recycling.
